This program is going to help you generate a ton of results, experience camaraderie, getting the support and guidance you need and of course, get plenty of good, old-fashioned sweaty workouts under your belt.

My personal exercise philosophy is short-duration, high-intensity, so all workouts are 20-40 minutes or less, and will have you breathless and burning!

Over the last 23 years as a fitness professional, my own personal journey from trainer to competitor to fitness model to CrossFitter and more has led me to my final exercise resting place–and that is heavy weight training combined with metabolic conditioning workouts for BEST physique results in less time.

After years and years of obsessive dieting and hours of exercise, I now refuse to be in the gym longer than 45 minutes, and it’s been this shift into shorter, more intense workouts that has allowed for me to stay fit, lean and functional into my 40s.

I want you to have a life outside the gym! And do things that make you feel good, athletic and like the inner badass you are! The #Physique40 workouts will facilitate that.

During the pandemic especially, I know that so may folks are struggling with workout consistency and accountability.

So the #Physique40 Challenge was born out of the desire to gain momentum and do it with an amazing team of people supporting you and cheering you on!

You’ll get access to the workouts on June 1st! I know that’s a ways away, but it’s because we are starting the accountability part of the program on Monday June 6th! Of course you don’t have to do the accountability if you don’t want, but last year we had over 800 ladies participating, I promise you it’s epic!

This question has come up a bunch, and I want to remind us all what this is really about–> consistency! NOT perfection, so if you have a trip planned, amazing. You can still do the workouts with bodyweight only OR with any equipment you have available to you. I don’t want you thinking that because you can’t perfectly do these workouts every single day that you can’t participate. And even if you have to do fewer workouts for that week–NO issues. Join up and we’ll adjust, no problem!

Ideally, you’d have access to dumbbells and barbells, but all workouts can be completed with just dumbbells if needed. If you at least have a set of moderate weight dumbbells (8-30 lbs), you can complete this program. If you don’t have a set of dumbbells, see about ordering some on Amazon or borrowing a set from a friend, but this program is not doable with just bands or bodyweight. If you can get your hands on one heavy set and one lighter set, that would be even better!

The challenge requires an average of 5 days a week of working out, and all workouts are 20-40 minutes long. If you don’t want to do 5 days a week, that’s totally fine, just do what you can when you can. BUT, if you want to be in the running for prizes, the goal is 5 days a week (I’m providing a suggested workout calendar that I’ll be following, so feel free to follow that to make sure you get them in!).

This program is a combination of #LeanBuilding and #PhysiqueFinishers, which means it includes portions that focus on muscle growth and strength (heavier, compound lifts like squats, deadlifts and presses, etc), and other parts that focus on fat loss and improved muscle definition (metabolic conditioning and short sprint cardio).

All of the workouts are delivered via easy print-and-go PDF with accompanying video tutorials for every single individual workout with extensive verbal form cues. The membership site is also mobile-friendly, so you’ll be able to pull the PDFs and videos at the gym in real time, too.

All fitness levels can do these workouts. Regressions are given and we’re using Metabolic Effect’s Rest-based training approach, the time and amount of rest you take in the workout is completely up to you–making it super safe. The workout frequency suggested is 5x/week, which may be more volume than you are used to (or less, depending), so the most important things will be to listen to your body, rest when you need to, practice your form as best you can, and slowly ramp up in weight so you don’t overdo it right out of the gate. The goal is consistency and to stick with it. So do your best, there will always be time later to take things up a notch.

Yes, this will be a common concern, and warranted. Consistency is key, and by making the workouts on the short side (20-40 minutes) hopefully that provides a low barrier to entry. But bottom line, a lot of folks won’t be able to commit to 5 days a week, and that is fine. You need to make it work for you and your unique schedule and priorities. BUT, I don’t want you going into all-or-nothing mode, so just do your best and progress as possible. This program is amazing: short, effective workouts that generate results. You’ll want to enroll in this program even if you can’t commit to 5 days a week, it’s completely worth it.

I’ll be honest, ideally you’d not do too much other exercise while doing this program for best results. You can leisure walk as much as you’d like, but if you are doing excessive cardio, for example, it WILL take away from your results. Which, so long as you know that, is fine. Throw in a yoga class or the occasional Zumba or boxing, and that’s fine. But if you are doing a ton, and add this on top, we need to be aware of overtraining/not giving the body sufficient recovery time for best results. But of course, if you are currently doing another program, it is perfectly fine to start this after you’re done.

Yes, the workouts include longer demo videos, where I am talking you through each movement, and what to look for and how things should feel. They are not full-length follow-along videos like a workout DVD however. BUT, no workout has more than 8 exercises so they are simple and easy to understand.
